Before you head to the farm, Bulahdelah itself is worth a stop. A proper country town, easy to navigate, with everything you need after a few hours on the highway.

Tourist Information Centre

Pull in, stretch your legs, grab a coffee and use the facilities. The information centre sits right off the highway and is the ideal first stop after the drive from Sydney. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms, and a good excuse to refuel before the farm.

The Famous Bulahdelah Bakery

The Bulahdelah Bakery is something of a local legend — the kind of place that earns its reputation one meat pie at a time. Worth the stop in its own right. Grab something for the road, or sit down before you head a short drive out to the farm.

The Session

What Happens on the Day

A 2-hour session starting at 10am. Here's how it runs.

Arrival & Introduction

Your group arrives and are introduced to Dusty May, Hercules, Jax and Murphy — our Clydesdales and one very opinionated donkey who has a habit of stealing the show.

Live Working Demonstration

Watch the Clydesdales put through a genuine working demonstration. These horses were bred to work, and seeing them move under harness is something that stops even the most camera-happy visitors in their tracks.

Heavy Horse Harness Display

A full working heavy horse harness on display — touch it, handle it, learn exactly what it takes to hitch 800kg of Clydesdale to a plough. Living history you can hold in your hands.

Meet, Feed & Photograph

Everyone gets personal time with the horses — feeding by hand, patting, and as many photos as you like. Bring carrots. Bring a camera. These are not small animals and the photos will prove it.

Questions & Interaction

Plenty of time to linger, ask questions and enjoy the moment. Nobody gets rushed off the property — this is your morning, take your time.

This Is Hercules

Hercules is one of four Clydesdales you'll meet on the day — alongside Dusty May, Jax, and Murphy the donkey. Between them, they cover every mood from stately to mischievous.

These are working animals from a bloodline with genuine history. Over 30 years of experience behind every session. You won't get closer to this calibre of horse anywhere within three hours of Sydney.
